TEXTILES & FASHION FRIENDSHIP GROUP

An initiative for the Members of the European Parliament
About Us

ABOUT US

The Textiles & Fashion Friendship Group is an informal platform within the European Parliament, bringing together Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) from across political families who share a commitment to supporting a thriving, innovative, and sustainable textiles and fashion industry.

Representing one of Europe’s most diverse and creative sectors — spanning fibres, yarns, fabrics, apparel, technical textiles, and related services — the Friendship Group acts as a bridge between industry and EU policymakers.

The group’s mission is to ensure that the voice of Europe’s textile and fashion industry is fully heard in Brussels.

It provides:

  • Knowledge Hub – Equipping MEPs with insights into the sector’s complexity: from fibre production to recycling technologies, from digitalisation to links with sectors like healthcare, defence, agriculture, and construction.

  • Informed Debates – Creating a neutral space to discuss key EU strategies and legislation on industrial policy, trade, sustainability, energy, and skills. â€‹

  • Policy Support – Ensuring MEPs understand the impact of EU policies on the industry, fostering legislation that is balanced, effective, and future-oriented.
